As I continue to sift through the healthy stack of CDs submitted to GospelReggae.com, I am amazed at how bad some of the artwork is on many of the projects! Not only should your album sound good, but it should look good also. After all, your packaging is often a potential fanâs first impression. Good artwork should captivate you, pique your interest and keep your attention. A proper album cover should be timeless and look good from across the room (or as a one inch jpeg), yet still be beautiful up close.
Regrettably, the problem with top-notch album artwork is that you usually end up spending top dollar for it. In the initial years of Lion of Zion Entertainment, we would typically have to throw down between $1,500-$2,000 just for the creation of a simple CD package! Who can afford to pay that these days? So over the years we have built our own in-house design department to meet all of our creative needs (whether they be CDs, posters, post cards, magazines, business cards, web design, etc...). And now, for the first time ever, we are opening up this department to you!
GR Designs is a team of four artists schooled in graphic design with a combined 94 years of experience in various mediums (Digital, Watercolor, Acrylic, Oil, Cartoon) and fluent on a host of programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Imageready, Quark, Indesign, Corel Draw, Adobe Flash and Dreamweaver). In addition to graphic design, we also have three published photographers on staff ready to meet your photography needs. We have worked on hundreds of projects and designed for the whoâs who of gospel reggae, including artists like Christafari, Sherwin Gardner, Monty G, Avion Blackman, Gitta Dan, 'Imisi, Koen Duncan, Solomon Jabby and St. Matthew.
