Submit your songs for 5 Upcoming Lion of Zion Compilations

Dec. 12, 2009 - Greetings fellow Gospel Reggae artists. As the new year approaches and we focus on our new release schedule for the first quarter of 2010, please let us know if you plan on dropping an album between now and March 31st so that we can plan accordingly.

Gospelreggae.com is growing and things are looking up right now thanks to all of your albums, especially the titles released in the last 30 days. In fact, projects like Streetlight 4, Mr. Lynx and Monty G’s “World Domination” (among others) have given us our most profitable month EVER in the 13-year history of our webstore! That’s reason to celebrate! A lot of this has to do with the sheer quantity of releases that we have dropped in the last month; a total of 20 releases in the last 30 days.

Given the sheer volume of albums, we are still faced with the challenge of how to promote these CDs so that we can sell more titles of each. One solution that we have come up with is to put out various artist compilations that help introduce new fans to your music. Here are the titles that we are currently accepting submissions for:

===============================
DANCEHALL BAPTISM 3
Description: Like VP’s Strictly the Best series or YOW, this CD will have the best that the gospel dancehall genre has to offer. Dancehall Baptism 1 was the first dancehall compilation ever. Get on this and you are a part of history! Previous installments introduced the international Christian marketplace to artists such as the Prodigal Son, Chevelle Franklyn, Junior C, Stitchie, Monty G, Sherwin Gardner and Tiko & Gitta.

RAGGAMUFFIN HIP HOP 3
Description: This album is where dancehall/reggae and rap/hip-hop intersect. Each song should have some elements from each of these genres. It could be a rapper flowing over a dancehall riddim or a deejay chatting over a slammin’ hip-hop beat. The perfect song features a reggae artist and a rapper trading off on the mic over the same riddim. You may be able to get creative with your existing tracks for this one and bring in a special guest or do a remix.

REGGAE REDEMPTION SONGS 3
Description: This is the continuation of the most popular gospel roots compilation in the world. It contains strictly roots reggae and culture in the tradition of Bob Marley. Live instruments are preferred. This album always has a significant evangelical leaning, so songs that fit in with the Gospel message are a plus.

GOSPEL REGGAE GREATEST HITS (Currently Untitled)
Description: Similar to VP Records’ “Reggae Gold” series, this album features only the biggest and most popular songs in the genre. Tracks can be reggae or dancehall. All songs must have topped the charts somewhere or been top sellers on downloads.

REGGAE WORSHIP (Currently Untitled)
Description: Praise and worship music that is distinctly reggae, dancehall or soca. It cannot be a copyright infringement so if it’s not original, it must be public domain.

Do any of your songs fit the above descriptions? Think hard. If you are looking for a great way to promote your existing album (or new material) to a wider international audience, this could be the perfect solution.

THE SPECIFICS:
While we are not paying royalties for licensing tracks for CD and downloads, we will give you 30 manufactured CDs of the corresponding title for every song that you have featured on one of our albums. That’s a $450.00 value per 30-count box! Your contact info and album will be mentioned inside the CD booklet and you will get a lifetime of promotion by us and will be affiliated with Lion of Zion Entertainment.
