GOSPELREGGAE.COM PARTNERS WITH THE UGI AWARDS

Oakland, CA, February 6th, 2006--The Urban Gospel Alliance announces a new partnership with GospelReggae.com (a division of Lion of Zion Entertainment) to further develop the Reggae category for the Urban Gospel Industry (UGI) Awards. This new and improved Reggae Category will be powered by GospelReggae.com, the online authority for gospel reggae and World music.
GospelReggae.com boasts the world's largest gospel reggae webstore selling hundreds of titles and apparel to both retail customers and wholesale vendors. They recently launched their own online radio station and a brand new digital download service where fans can buy songs (in MP3 format) by top gospel reggae artists for only 99 cents.

This new partnership has expanded the reggae award section of the UGI Awards from five to nine categories. The nominees for the 2006 UGI Reggae Awards (Powered by GospelReggae.com) will be top-selling/radio charting gospel reggae artists that have released a hit album/song within the last 12 months. Gospel reggae fans will be able to vote for their favorite artists online in two months at http://www.gospelreggae.com and http://www.urbangospelalliance.com.

The nominees for each category will be announced on May 10th, 2006, at the Bobby Jones International Gospel Industry Retreat. Then Gospel reggae fans will be able to vote for their favorite artists at http://www.gospelreggae.com and http://www.urbangospelalliance.com. The winners will be announced at the official award ceremony held in Houston, TX on June 28, 2006. The annual UGI awards are the culmination of the weeklong UGA Conference (in partnership with Edwin & Walter Hawkins Music & Arts Love Fellowship conference). This conference will include panels and workshops geared toward the urban gospel industry and ministry, while giving attendees opportunities to participate in many mainstream gospel events.
